SANDRA CHANEY, PH.D.

PROFESSOR OF HISTORY

Sandra Chaney has taught history at the college level for over twenty years, including 2.5 years of instruction in rural Henan Province, China, most recently in fall 2023 during her sabbatical. She earned the B.A. in history and in German from the University of Montana and the M.A. and Ph.D. in modern European history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Chaney enjoys teaching courses in European and world history, environmental history and current events in historical perspective. Her research focuses on German nature and environmental protection and, most recently, the role of German veterinarians in World War Two.
